FSR Board of Directors
Mavis Tuten, President
Mavis is employed by Samaritan Health Services as the Risk Manager of Albany General Hospital. She is a long term volunteer for FSR and is active in the community. She holds an interdisciplinary masters degree from Oregon State University.
Bob Poole, Secretary
Bob is a retired MD, who practiced urology for 26 years. During that time he served on The Corvallis Clinic Board as a board member and president. Bob's nonprofit experience encompasses a broad range of professional and community organizations as a board member and President.
Anne White, Treasurer
Anne is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She has extensive accounting experience with nonprofit organizations and has served on numerous nonprofit Boards of Directors in various officer roles.
Doug Boysen, J.D.
Doug is Vice-President and General Counsel, for Samaritan Health Services, Inc., where he manages the legal affairs of this nonprofit health care system. He regularly advises his clients regarding tax-exemption regulatory compliance and board governance issues. Doug also serves as Adjunct Faculty in Pacific University’s Masters degree program in Healthcare Administration.
Flaxen Conway, M.S.
As an OSU faculty member, Flaxen provides applied education for nonprofits, communities and families in coastal areas and beyond that are affected by changes in natural resource policy and managerial decisions. Her professional expertise includes community engagement, group decision processes, evaluative research methodology, strategic planning and conflict resolution processes.
Aaron Reher, B.S.
Aaron works for Samaritan Health Services in the Administration Department of Albany General Hospital. Aaron graduated from Oregon State University in 2008, majoring in Health Management and Policy. While at OSU, Aaron served as President and Public Relations committee chair of his fraternity. He is excited to make his nonprofit board debut with Financial Stewardship Resources.
John Frohnmayer, J.D.
John brings a wealth of nonprofit leadership experience to the FSR Board. He has served as Chair of the National Endowment of the Arts and on numerous other nonprofit boards. John practiced as a civil trial lawyer for 30 years and has advised and formed many nonprofit organizations.
James Coakley, Ph.D
Jim is an OSU Professor of Accounting and Information Systems. He is active in the nonprofit community and has served as a Treasurer for many nonprofit organizations through the years. He is enthusiastic about applied education and advancing fiduciary skills and responsibilities in Oregon’s nonprofit organizations.
Amber White, CPA
Amber is a Certified Public Accountant and serves as Controller of Citizens Bank. Her professional background includes experience auditing nonprofit organizations for a public accounting firm. She graduated from Oregon State University and has volunteered time for Junior Achievement and Young Entrepreneurship Week.
Bruce DeYoung, Ph.D
Bruce is an OSU Professor Emeritus of Business and Extension. For more than 30 years he administered and conducted outreach for nonprofit organizations, enterprises and communities. One of his professional interests is using distance learning technology to help audiences conveniently access information and practical training.
